Laser-Engraved Wood iPhone Case Resembling a Camera
There are so many interesting iPhone Cases on the market, that you can’t help but wonder which one to get first. This wood iPhone case was designed to look like a camera. The engravings are fresh and modern, but allow the case to display a very realistic design. Remembering the days when a camera would take all your pictures, the wood iPhone case found on Toxel protects your gadget with the strength of the wood, while gently embracing it with the shock-absorbing inner felt pad. The laser-engraved old-school camera adorns thewood on the back, while the front will display an elegantly framed iPhone. Two versions of the same beautiful iPhone case with a vintage feel are available: walnut or bamboo. Designed by Hong Kong-based SigniCase, the Wood Camera iPhone Case weighs only 22g and you can get it from here for $42.00.

Make anything touch-sensitive
Wowsa! Portugal-based company, Displax, has invented a polymer film that can make virtually anything touch-sensitive. The film, called “Skin” can be attached to almost any surface - transparent, opaque, or even curved. The only limitation is that the surface can’t be conductive - so unfortunately you can’t stick this film to your fridge to instruct it when to give you food if that’s what you’re planning.
Skin uses something called “projected capacitive technology” which allows it to detect the touch of a finger or even a wisp of directed breath even if it is underneath a thin sheet of glass. This opens up a number of possibilities for museums, galleries and any other businesses that may want to display interactive data.
Super green!
Do You Poken?
The poken is a small gadget avatar with a single four-fingered hand with which you instantly connect with new friends across online social networks when and where you meet them in real life.
To connect to somebody, simply do a “high-four” with the two pokens’ little hands. The pokens exchange virtual contact cards and your new friends are automatically added to your contact list the next time you sync your Poken with your computer.
Even if you’ve already connected with someone, it’s worth high-fouring your friends every time you hang out with them. You’ll be able to view all your social interactions in a timeline, allowing you to keep track of when and how often you and your friends hang out.
Coolest Gadget Winner (May 14)
The SmartFaucet is a touchscreen tap with face recognition. Stand in front of it and it will automatically remember your preferred water temperature and pressure and run you your perfect bath or shower. You can also use it to catch up on a few emails or find out how your calendar’s shaping up for the weekend.
